Many different friendships

There are many different types of friendships and often they will change throughout life. You can have classmates, childhood friends, teammates, online friends or other types of friendships.

Some have the same friends throughout their lives, while others have different ones. For some, it is important to have many friends, while others find it best to have a few.

A good friend is someone who makes us feel good. Often it's someone you can trust, who you can be yourself with and who helps and supports you. Sharing interests with friends is common, but not necessary. For example, you may share the same sense of humour, or play the same sports.

There are also friendships that may not work so well. You may have had a fight and feel betrayed. It may also be that you don't feel understood or accepted.

Conflicts among friends are common and can often be resolved together by talking about it. It's good to tell your friends how you feel and if something doesn't feel right.

Sometimes you drift apart, or perhaps grow apart. It can be very difficult, although many people go through it at some point in their lives.

Remember that friendships should make you feel good! No one has the right to insult you or freeze you out. If you feel that your friends are behaving badly towards you, it might be a good idea to talk to an adult you trust.
